Tour of Trentino: Niemec wins, Basso at second place

PAMPEAGO (Trento) - Under a snow and wind storm, the second stage of 33rd Tour of Trentino with the arrival at 1.757mt height of Pampeago awarded yesterday MICHE - SILVER CROSS - SELLE ITALIA Team and its Polish athlete Przemyezlaw Niemec, daily winner with the Slowene Brajkovic (classified second yesterday in the time trial just behind Klöden) at first place in the general classifies. Protagonist in the final climbing of Pampeago (8km with top slope 16%) Niemec beated Ivan Basso that was inceasing speed from the beginnin of the climbing and only Niemec restisted behind him.

Then at Last Kilometer Niemec shot and finished alone on the arrival. Then came Basso 22" later and third Caruso 39" later. Now Brajkovic lead the general classifies with Basso at 4" and Niemec at 19".

To complete the Team performance arrived CArvajal 24th and Giunti 29th.

An important victory that prized the Team engagement and that thanks all the ponsors that helped to sign one of the most important arrivals where resently only ames like Pantani or Tonkov and few other Racers could won.
