Bikefit positioning

Do I need to be measured?

Sore back , sore knee's, lacking power, trouble breathing, can't get the seat back enough, not balanced on the bike, stem too short or too long? These issues can be addressed by being set up correctly. For people who feel discomfort on the bike, stems and seat posts are a start in attempts to be more efficient on the bike.

The most interesting observation Paul Hillbrick has made over 20 years is that people pay pay more attention to their shoe size than to their bike size. Anybody with a degree of knowledge in the world of cycling, will agree that your position on the bike needs to be perfect if you expect to be efficient and prevent injury.

Hillbrick Racing Frames and our representative dealers can do a complete analysis of your riding position to help you be more comfortable and efficient on your bike. This comprehensive process takes into account your physical attributes, features, size, weight, body dimensions and intended use.

During the sizing process we record your body measurements and calculate your starting position, after this we refine your set up, making finer adjustments that will help you feel much better on the bike, as many cyclists over 20 years have written in testimonials on our feedback page.

Since 1987, Paul Hillbrick has been positioning cyclists, but we still recommend to all our clients that if you suffer from back or neck problems, that you also consult with your practitioner to advise them about your new position. We are here to work with you and your doctor to make perfectly sure that everything is correct.

The most important word about position is balance, weight distribution on the bike will affect the steering and handling characteristics. Sometimes fitting a longer or shorter stem is the only option available if you have a production frame. For many years we have worked with female cyclists as they often have trouble getting comfortable on the bike, by women having their riding position analyzed, it can help solve many positional problems that women face with cycling.  By being balanced and in the correct position you avoid the risk of injury through poor position.

"There is no such thing as a standard sized person". If you need a 54cm top bar with a 56cm seat tube then that is what you need. If you have a shorter upper body then, unfortunately, that's the way your body is and it is best to have a bike made to suit your dimensions. Your performance is determined by your pedaling efficiency, position and the balance of the bike together with the correct geometry will give you many kilometres of comfort and increased power.

Once all the sizing has been done, you only need to choose a colour or you can be guided by our photo gallery.
