A possible problem that could arise in the future with frames incorporating the integrated system, is that any damage to the head tube itself may, in fact, render the frame useless. The Columbus design keeps the headset as a consumable part that can be replaced easily if damaged or worn. This will help extend the life of the frame. This pictured headset is designed for the Columbus aluminium range of integrated frames. One important thing to remember is that the Columbus integrated headset comes with a split crown race which prevents damage to the carbon steerer when fitted.
