The 10th of December marks the start of the Bank Of Queensland Wednesday Twilight Criterium Series. With over $4000 in prize money the racing is sure to be hard and fast. Velo Bicycles are also provided prize money for primes in each race, redeemable at their new store opening soon.

Gradings- Please note Gradings are a little different to our normal Club Grades. Entries are strictly as per CQ gradings. If you don't yet have one and you wish to race you must contact Club Handicapper Terry Bourne or submit this form to CQ . The CQ grading list is currently under review, but a revised copy will be available at the sign-on desk. Terry is quite concerned that noone has contacted him to confirm their grading. Please ensure you do this before attending these races.

Our home circuit is at Lakeside Raceway at Dakabin, just north of Petrie. It is a 2.4km former motor racing circuit. There are two climbs and a long straight. We conduct criterium races at Nundah (Hedley Ave Criterium Circuit).

Our road races and time trials are conducted at various open road locations such as Closeburn (near Samford), Elimbah, Pine Dam and Somerset Dam. For a list of events, see the Calendar.

Who are we?

The Hamilton Pine Rivers Wheelers Cycling Club (HPRW) was formed in 1908. We are a cycle racing club based in the northern suburbs of Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. Our road racing events are held on most weekends from March through October (Winter Series), with criterium circuit racing on Saturday mornings during the rest of the year (Summer Series).

We cater for riders of all abilities and ages through Handicap and Graded races. Visiting riders are encouraged and we welcome new members. The Club is affiliated with the Australian Cycling Federation and this allows us to provide racing licences including a "One Day" licence for those wanting to get a taste of competitive cycling.

Our members

HPRW welcomes male and female members from all age groups. Have a look at some of our club member profiles.

Our club racing is graded on ability and results. Some events are handicap races, so that anyone who has a good day, uses just the right tactics or has been training hard, has a good chance of winning.

Members are encouraged to train together. One of the other popular training rides starts at Zupps Aspley, on Sunday mornings at 6.30am. The ride travels north to Narangba, though Deception Bay, Redcliffe and back to Brisbane via the Hornibrook Highway Bridge.
